CITATION: Matthew Condon
CITATION: Matthew Condon
Journalist Matthew Condon for his research into and reporting on a series of historic corruption or criminal cases, the records about which the police and the government are allegedly keeping closed.
These include the police investigation into the Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub fire, the allegations against former Police Commissioner Bishop and certain cold case murders. Matthew Condon has recently linked these behaviours to the unknown rationale of the Right to Information authorities in their closedown of access to government records in whistleblower cases, in particular, the two decades of the Fire Ant Program fiasco.
The further context given to these behaviours include the loss of freedom and democracy in Queensland, and the abandonment of the ‘clean broom of the Fitzgerald Inquiry into police and political corruption’.
